All models come standard with a hybrid 2.5L four-cylinder
engine that offers up a healthy 191 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque, which
matches well with its low curb weight. Paired with a continuously variable
transmission in a front-wheel-drive layout, this setup provides impressive fuel
efficiency at an EPA-estimated 37 MPG combined. With this combo, the Maverick

Ford also offers the turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost engine that delivers 250
horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. The power is managed by an 8-speed

Hauling Capability
Despite its smaller size, the Maverick will easily carry up
to 1,500 pounds of payload and tow up to 2,000 pounds. When you select an
all-wheel-drive model that's equipped with the available 4K Tow Package, towing
capacity increases to a maximum of 4,000 pounds. The 4K Tow Package comes with
a Class III hitch and its hitch receiver features a seven-pin connector.
XL and Lariat models come standard with the FLEXBED System, which adds more
versatility to the truck bed by adding configurable slots and tie-downs.
Interior
Owing to the Maverick's unibody design, its interior is
exceptionally spacious and can comfortably seat five passengers, with over 35
inches of legroom for those seated in the rear. Ford also built plenty of
storage options into the truck, including a large compartment under the rear
seats and door pockets.
The Maverick Lariat's cabin comes in a stylish Desert Brown with premium vinyl
seating. Its driver's seat features 8-way power adjustability with power lumbar
support. An available Luxury Package adds heated seating and a high-end
8-speaker audio system by Bang & Olufsen.
Technology and Safety
There are plenty of connectivity options included with every Maverick. The standard 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. Available SYNC 3 technology uses voice recognition to provide you with hands-free access to the navigation system, climate controls, radio, and more.
Ford's advanced Co-Pilot360 safety suite comes standard with automated high-beams and pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking. You'll also be able to add lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. The Co-Pilot360 system of the XLT and Lariat is also available with Hill Descent Control, which reduces slipping on steep, rugged inclines.
