4. Dupree Park
Dupree Park’s trails provide a great way to get comfortably
lost in nature. The trails weave through the woods, and you might even come
upon a peaceful lake where you can fish or wade in the water. Plus, with plenty
of sports fields, geocaching, and a playground for the kids, Dupree Park is
sure to be a good time for the whole family.
5. Arkansas Arboretum
Located about 40 minutes from Jacksonville, the Arkansas
Arboretum is worth the drive. Here you’ll find several trails that will lead
you through gorgeous wooded scenery and along babbling brooks. The trails here
are easy to moderate, with the shortest option only half a mile long, but if
you’d like a little extra time in nature, you can take an offshoot from the
trail to extend your hike to a mile and a half.
6. Pinnacle Mountain State Park
Right outside Arkansas Arboretum, you’ll find Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Pinnacle Mountain has long been a recognizable symbol of the area, with a near-perfect pyramid shape. Another option that is well worth the drive, this park has 15 miles of trails surrounding the mountain that range in length and difficulty, making this perfect for beginners and more experienced hikers alike.
