The Museum of Military History

Jacksonville’s significant role in the war effort is honored with a museum built on the Arkansas Ordnance Plant grounds. Its mission is to educate visitors on both civilian and military officers’ roles during conflict and peace times. Over its 15,000 feet of museum space, it displays posters, uniforms, and other artifacts from conflicts like the Civil War and World War II. One notable and unique exhibit details the 1980 explosion of a Titan II nuclear missile near Damascus. It’s a truly excellent resource.
