It’s an honor to be nominated…but it’s even better to win! Thanks to Kelley Blue Book, we at Crain Ford of Jacksonville have some celebrating to do. Each year, KBB announces its Best Buy Award winners in each automotive category, and we’ve been lucky enough to win four.
What is Kelley Blue Book? They are a trusted resource in the automotive industry known for estimating the value of your vehicle with its Blue Book Trade-In Values and Kelly Blue Book Price Advisor tool. When it comes to recognizing great vehicles, KBB knows a thing or two about what it takes to make a quality car, truck, SUV, or van.
KBB’s Best Buy Awards are based on hours of driving and researching all the cars on the market. They also take into consideration the resale value and the history of that make and model when determining its reliability. The main goal of their Best Buy Awards is to let you, the driver, know which vehicle you should drive home if you needed to buy one today.
After all the envelopes were opened, it was revealed that four Ford vehicles were Best Buy Award winners for 2024. Let’s take a look at the winners and find out why each one so rightly deserves this honor from KBB.
Best Full-Sized SUV: 2024 Ford Expedition
In the Full-Size SUV category, KBB selected our very own Ford Expedition as a Best Buy Award winner. We already know why it’s the best but let’s see what they said about it. They noticed its spacious cabin with room for eight. As well as its 9,300-pound towing capacity and intuitive infotainment and towing tech. They also cited its excellent safety suite that comes standard with a great starting price of $55,525.
Best Compact Pickup: 2024 Ford Maverick
With all the big trucks getting praise, the smaller pickup trucks can sometimes go unnoticed. But it’s hard to ignore the Ford Maverick. As a compact pickup truck, they noted its hybrid powertrain offers exceptional fuel economy and its 4,000-pound max tow rating. It’s priced nicely at $23,400, which was another factor KBB liked.
Best Full-Sized Pickup: 2024 Ford F-150
Continuing to dominate the full-sized pickups is, of course, the Ford F-150. As the best-in-class payload and towing, KBB called out the fact that it can act as a generator with available Pro Power Onboard. Essentially, all the trims and all the options for the price, which starts at $36,570, is the main reason this truck is an award-winner.
Best Electric Truck: 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning
Not only did the F-150 Lightning win the Best Electric Truck for 2023, but it’s the first and only winner ever named since this category was created last year. With EVs continuing to advance, KBB has kept up and added these categories. It was named Best Electric Truck two years in a row thanks to its 320-mile range, quick acceleration, and advanced tech features, all for around $50,000.
